Who is day-lab.com?
Hello!
day-lab was launched in February 2005 by me, Amy Shutt.
day-lab.com is a one woman show (yes, I am responsible for every aspect of day-lab.com), which is run out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
day-lab is my full time job. I try very hard to fill all the roles required at day-lab.com by putting 200% of myself into day-lab.com each and every day. I do hope you enjoy the products and services as much as I enjoy finding and making the products available to you (and getting them out to you).
day-lab.com is a very small independent boutique style website offering unique gifts and wares, both new and vintage. day-lab's stock on hand, shipping times, and Terms of Service reflect the unique nature of this small one woman business.
Below you will find day-lab's Terms of Service, Shipping and Transit info. Read through it! It is important, I promise!

Payment methods
-Currently day-lab accepts PayPal and credit card payments primarily. day-lab's shopping cart and checkout system are set up through PayPal.(You do not need a Paypal account to pay with a credit card through Paypal). Paypal also allows you to "write an eCheck" through their checkout system as well.

Shipping
-Orders are shipped via USPS.
-Some orders are shipped INSURED via the USPS at day-lab's discretion, depending on total value, availability, and fragility, of items being shipped.

-Arrives to you on average in 7 to 10 BUSINESS DAYS(M-F)
PRIORITY SHIPPING:
-Ships within 3 BUSINESS DAYS (M-F) from order process date.
-Arrives to you on average in 5 to 7 BUSINESS DAYS(M-F)
RUSH SHIPPING (when available):
-Ships in 1 to 2 BUSINESS DAYS (M-F) from order process date.
-Arrives to you on average in 2 to 4 BUSINESS DAYS(M-F)
OVERNIGHT SHIPPING: Please email your request to info@day-lab.com as soon as possible.
-Transit times usually average 2 to 7 BUSINESS DAYS after shipment day, but can take longer. day-lab is not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the carrier (USPS), excluding weekends and holidays, and may vary with package origin and destination, particularly during peak periods.
These dates and times above are not guaranteed by day-lab or the USPS (except for OVERNIGHT) and should be read as only a guideline. day-lab will not refund or cancel orders if they are not received by the date quoted. Overnight shipping is the only guaranteed service day-lab offers.
STANDARD and PRIORITY Shipping and Handling Cost on Total Price for Domestic Orders:
$0.01 to 9.99 = Standard $3.95 / Priority $7.00
$10.00 to 30.99 = Standard $6.25 / Priority $9.00
$31.00 to 60.99 = Standard $7.95 / Priority $10.00
$61.00 to 149.99 = Standard $10.00 / Priority $12.00
$150.00 and up = FREE STANDARD SHIPPING! / Priority $14.00
RUSH Shipping and Handling Cost on Total Price for Domestic Orders:
$0.01 to 36.00 = Rush $19.00
$36.01 to 80.00 = Rush $27.00
$80.01 to 300.01 = Rush $36.00
$300.01 and up = Rush $50.00
There is a 9% tax on orders for Louisiana residents.
International Orders/Shipping Quotes
*International Orders are unavailable as of June 2008 for an indefinite amount of time*
International customers must email their order request to info@day-lab.com and wait for a quote and payment instructions.
-International Orders with a value of $99.00 or less, can ship via Global Express or Global Priority (up to 4 lbs).
-If your order exceeds the value of $99.00 of the weight of 4 lbs. it must ship Global Express.
GLOBAL EXPRESS-Option 1:
-Currently we ship via Global Express with Tracking and Insurance for all International Shipments.
-This is a safest, fastest, and the recommended method of International Shipping.
-Shipping your package via Global Express protects your goods (up to $100.00 USD worth) from any unfortunate mishaps during transit.
GLOBAL PRIORITY-Option 2:
-Global Priority packages ship uninsured with NO tracking at the Customer's own risk.
-Only proof of shipment is available via a Delivery Confirmation number.
-GLOBAL PRIORITY ORDERS CAN NOT BE REFUNDED OR REPLACED IF
LOST IN TRANSIT.
-ALL CANADIAN and INTERNATIONAL ORDERS are marked as MERCHANDISE, not as a gift. Please do not ask day-lab to mark them otherwise.
-Please note that Canadian & International customers may be expected to pay additional taxes/duties outside of day-lab's control and any fees are the customer's responsibility.
International Order Transit/Tracking etc.
International Orders ship within 14 business days from the day payment is received. It can take 1 to 6 weeks for International Orders to arrive to you, depending on your country's postal codes. Rush orders are available on request for a nominal fee.
-Once an order is given to a USPS carrier the item becomes that carrier's responsibility and day-lab is no longer liable. day-lab is not responsible for any packages lost or damaged while in transit to a destination outside of the USA.
-Global Express is shipped insured with tracking and provides coverage up to $100.00 USD for lost or damaged packages.
-Global Priority is shipped uninsured with no tracking. Therefore, NO replacements and NO refunds will be granted by day-lab if an International Order is lost or damaged while in transit via Global Priority.
-Please make sure you feel comfortable with these terms before placing your order!
Important Email Information
ALL customer service emails are answered in usually 1 to 3 business days. If you have sent an email and do not receive a reply within 72 hours, chances are your email provider has most likely deemed our domain name as spam and thrown my reply in the bulk/trash folder.
-Please check those folders before sending me angry emails.
-You may also add our email addresses to your address book, and hopefully our emails should not get filtered as spam.

-We are closed SATURDAY and SUNDAY.
-day-lab is run primarily by me-Amy Shutt. This is a small business, not a corporation, and the shipping times reflect what is physically possible for 1 person to realistically accomplish.

USPS Delivery Confirmation Notification
-When domestic shipping labels are prepared online and printed, customers will receive an email from Paypal letting you know. This email will include your USPS Delivery Confirmation Number.
-USPS provides a DELIVERY CONFIRMATION service, not an actual TRACKING number. It shows when the label was printed and when the item was delivered at its final destination.
-If you have not received your package within 14 business days after you have received a shipping confirmation email from Paypal, send an email to info@day-lab.com letting us know.
Order Status Requests
-If, at any time, you would like to know the status of your order please email that request to info@day-lab.com
-Please include your name, the date your order was placed, your paypal email, contact email (if different), and items ordered in the body of the email.

-Although we always strive to ship according to the above statements please keep in mind that this business is run by one person and shipping times can be longer than quoted above. If you have any questions regarding the projected shipping day of your order (before or after you place an order), you need to email confirm@day-lab.com and we will let you know.

-Please read the Auto Responder Email that you will receive from day-lab once you place an order as well as the NEWS section on the day-lab website-this is how we communicate important notices to customers.
Rush Order Requests
If your order needs to be sent out asap, because it is a birthday gift etc. PLEASE email info@day-lab.com as soon as you place your order.
-We are always happy to help in any way that we can!
Back Ordered/Out of Stock Items
-If your order includes a listed back ordered item or an item that takes a few extra days to ship, the entire order will ship together once all items are ready to go. If you want part of your order to ship immediately, and prefer to have the back ordered pieces ship later-please order them separately.
-If your order includes an out of stock item, the rest of the order will ship and you will be refunded for the out of stock item usually within 14 to 30 days.
A Note on Vintage Items
Many items at day-lab are Vintage, meaning they were produced roughly between the 1930s and 1980s. These Vintage items come in the form of dead stock (items never circulated), estate sale finds, and antique shop and fair finds. I do my best to research the items and find out as much as possible about them. All information that is known about Vintage items is meticulously listed in the description (this also includes any dirt, defects, scratches, paint loss etc.).
I describe all vintage items as accurately as possible through the photographs and the descriptions. All vintage items are sold AS IS, and all sales of these items are FINAL. Ask any questions you may have before purchasing.
Jewelry items that are received broken or in need of a little repair/replacement can always be mended or replaced! Please keep in mind that most dead stock has been stored away for years in a state of stagnation and may be in need of a little tweaking. The same goes for vintage, previously worn, jewelry items. This is no way an indication of poor quality, and is only an indication of stagnant time in stoarge or normal wear and tear. I am always more than happy to help out in these situations. Email me and let me know asap if your jewelry piece is broken, and I will authorize a return for it to be repaired or replaced!
Returns, Exchanges and Refunds
-ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Please ask any and all questions before you place an order!
day-lab does not grant refunds, credits or exchanges.
-Please email us immediately at info@day-lab.com within 48 hours from the day you have received your order if there is a problem with your order, and we will try to rectify any situations we deem as reasonable.
-Jewelry items that are received broken can be fixed! Email me and let me know asap if your jewelry piece is broken, and I will authorize a return for it to be repaired or replaced!
-Shipping fees are nonrefundable.
-If you receive an incorrect item in your order, email us immediately for further instruction: info@day-lab.com.
-Please note: Prices are subject to change at any time without any given notice and we retain the right to change the price of any items at any time without any given notice.
-Absolutely no unauthorized returns will be accepted by day-lab. All requests for a return approval must first be emailed to info@day-lab.com.
-Please be sure you understand and are comfortable with the Returns, Exchanges and Refunds policy stated above before placing an order.
Order Cancellation Policy
-Once an order has been placed, it can only be canceled within the first 12 hours from the time it has been placed.
-Cancellations granted after this time frame are subject to a 30% processing/restocking fee.
-day-lab reserves the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason seen as appropriate.
Transit and Insurance Info IMPORTANT
-Once an order is given to a USPS carrier the item becomes that carrier's responsibility and day-lab is no longer liable.
-Some DOMESTIC orders are shipped insured (which is determined on a order by order basis and does not include all orders).
-This USPS insurance provides coverage for a lost, rifled, or damaged article. Shipping costs are not covered.

-In the case a claim is filed, it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months to be resolved. Refunds/replacements will usually not be sent out until a resolution via the USPS has been made.
-A package must be missing for 21 days from the date it was shipped before a claim can be filed.
-Most insured orders need to be signed for upon delivery (usually orders insured for a dollar amount over $49.00). It is the customer's responsibility to follow through in obtaining their package, should they not be available to sign for it at the time of delivery.
-PLEASE NOTE THESE EXCEPTIONS:
-Insurance can not cover lost packages due to an incorrect address provided at checkout. PLEASE CHECK THE ADDRESS YOUR ORDER IS BEING SHIPPED TO AT CHECKOUT AND AGAIN IN THE EMAILED RECEIPT! If you find it is incorrect or would like to double check the address with day-lab, please email info@day-lab.com immediately. day-lab is not responsible for the loss of these packages and will not provide replacements or refunds for these lost packages.
-If a Delivery confirmation number shows your package as being delivered to your zip code, but you still haven't received it, a claim can not be filed. Please contact your post office supervisor with the Delivery Confirmation number so they can proceed in an investigation.
-If you enter a wrong address at checkout and the package is sent back to us we will ship it out to you as soon as a correct address is established by the customer (extra shipping fees will be required b/f re-shipment).
